MOOLOOLABA CAMP 2012
The New Year is nearly upon us which means our annual Mooloolaba Training Camp is close. Next year we are offering 2 options due to the Australia Day Public Holiday on Thursday January 26th.
For those interested in doing a 4 day 3 night option the camp will start early on Thursday morning with a ride from Brisbane to Mooloolaba. The cost for that option is $420 which includes accommodation, lunch for all 4 days and dinner on Thursday and Saturday nights plus refreshments and drinks for training and after training.
The normal 2 night option which starts Friday afternoon is $290 with accommodation, all lunches, dinner Saturday night and training refreshments included.
We’ll be using the same venue as previous years, Headland Tropicana on the top of the hill and for those doing Mooloolaba for the first time this is a great weekend to become familiar with the course. The camps also really set you up the last part of season with the fitness gained and give you a real boost for the following races.
Regardless of your ability and fitness levels everyone is welcome and sessions are tailored
towards your ability. So if you’re new to the squad and training don’t feel you shouldn't’come. We have had many novice level athletes attend camps in the past and get a lot out of it.
If you would like to attend please pay a $100 deposit into the BTS bank account to confirm your spot.

BEGINNER COURSE
Our latest beginner course participants are going very well as they get closer to their graduation race at Raby Bay on December 11th. This weekend they start on mounts and dismounts before their first Redcliffe Transition session next weekend.
TRAINING
It’s been great to see good numbers at training of late especially on the Wednesday morning bike sessions. With the 100%ers boys being led around by Matty Hopper, Ray taking the novice group and then the main squad working on some group riding skills our bike sessions are going quite well.
One of the main benefits of group training is it challenges you to lift to a higher level. Along with the social side of things it is the best way to maximise your training time. In fact there have been studies into the benefits of training with a group compared to training on your own and the greater improvements it gives in Vo2 max levels and overall training performance.
So when you come along to the squad sessions whether they be bike or maybe swim/run maximise your time there and work hard. Challenge yourself to hang on that wheel, push through the fatigue in the swim or hold in the last 100m on the run. It is only when you get out of your comfort zone that you truly find your limits.
Use the squad sessions as your hard efforts and the individual sessions on your own as the easy aerobic efforts. Easy on the easy days and hard on hard days. It’s not rocket science, stay consistent, recover well and you will improve.
