BTS Blog 22/9/11

TRAINING - TRANSITIONS

This Saturday morning is our first transitions session this season from Suttons Beach, Redcliffe. We have changed the start time to 6.30am to allow those riding out time to get there.

If you do plan on riding there the normal meeting place is KFC on Gympie Rd, Kedron from 5.00am. We will have the BTS car there if you want us to transport any bags out for the transitions.

If you are driving out please arrive prior to 6.30am so you are ready to start the session at 6.30am sharp. Saturday mornings do become busy after 8.30am so it is important to get the session done on time.

From next week there is only 5 weeks to Noosa, 6 weeks to Port Half, 10 weeks to Busso IM, 11 weeks to Canberra Half and then 12 weeks to the first OD qualifier in Canberra. The next major race we'll be at is the first Gatorade event at Raby Bay on the 16th of October which is always a good hit out prior to Noosa.

To help everyone get ready for the different events we have started to seperate people into groups at some of the sessions to ensure they get the right type of workout for their race. As always the sessions will also cater to the differing fitness levels and abilities.

WORLD CHAMPS MEETING

This Saturday from 10am we're having a meeting for anyone interested in qualifying for the World Champs in Auckland next year. The meeting will be at the Grigaluinas residence at number 1, Fourteenth Av, Kedron.

Even if you're thinking about it and undecided I would encourage you to come along to the meeting. You can qualify in the Sprint or Olympic events and whilst it will be a challenge to make it there are many in the squad that have a greater chance than they realise.

At the meeting we'll cover training blocks, the races available, look at travelling together to reduce cost and the times you might need to do to qualify.

TUESDAY NIGHT SWIMMING

With Noosa only a few weeks away and numbers increasing on a Tuesday night in the pool from next week we'll go back to 5.30pm-6.30pm session for the beginner/intermediate level swimmer. Then the 6pm-7.15pm in the 50m pool for the more intermediate/advanced level
