VIDEOPRO NOOSA PRIZE

Our great friends from Videopro http://www.videopro.com.au/ are again supplying a 50" Panasonic 3D Home theatre system for a lucky BTS member competing at Noosa. As per previous Noosa and Mooloolaba campaigns the prize will be drawn at the Noosa after party and is open to anyone as long as they are a current 2011/12 BTS member and competing at the race.

Along the way we'll be giving out bonus tickets for the draw to increase your chances. The first bonus tickets given away will be at the Tour de Tri. Any BTS member that competes in this year's Tour de Tri (team or individual) will receive 5 bonus tickets into the draw.

The winners so far since Videopro have offered this prize are Kristen Walker Mooloolaba 2010, Shannon Dooland Noosa 2010 and Merinda Eckart Mooloolaba 2011. Here is Merinda with her prize.

To be able to give away such a fantastic prize reflect what a great company Videopro are. We really thank Jason Sing and the team for all their support to BTS members and look forward to giving away another great prize at Noosa 2011.

BTS JACKETS

For all those people that ordered BTS jackets they are almost ready so we do require payment prior to purchase. If you could please deposit the $45 into the BTS bank account.

MEMBER CARDS

We have new 2011/12 BTS member cards to give away to those who have completed their membership for the season. We'll be giving these away at training or sending in the mail.

MEDILIGHT PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL & SKIN REJUVINATION MOST IMPROVED FEMALE ATHLETE JULY

The most improved female athlete for July goes to Kellie Liddelow for her 6min pb in the half marathon at Hunter Valley last weekend.

Kel has had to overcome a bad bike crash earlier this year so it was pleasing to see she is back on track.

TRAINING

We have 3 weeks until Tour de Tri, 7 weeks to Kingscliffe Tri and then 14 weeks to Noosa. Over the last couple of weeks there has been a steady increase in numbers at training despite the cold which is great to see.

We have been doing some power/speed work which is designed to improve our top end speed prior to starting the longer threshold work in the coming weeks (mid to late Aug). The end result is the ability to hold a higher speed for longer.

Outside of those events there are number of fun runs, crits to choose from and the TQ duathlon this weekend at Gatton. These are good events to practice your racing skills. Cheap entry fees, small fields and an opportunity to race more.

Off season racing is a great way to improve your performances in key races during the season so get out there amongst it and have a go at something different. Last weekend's Fusion Games crit and duathlon was a good example.

It was great to see quite a few BTS athletes competing in the crit and duathlon with highlights being Mike Hill's second in the elite B crit and Troy Grimshaw 6th overall and 2nd in 30-34 in the men's duathlon.
