RACE RESULTS - QTS CALOUNDRA
Like last year the Caloundra Triathlon was a wet one although this year we had a much better tent to stand under thanks to our sponsors at Videopro http://www.videopro.com.au/ . Despite the rain it was another good day for BTS athletes.
It's been pleasing to see so many new members to BTS out there racing and experiencing different venues and the conditions that go with it. The key to improving is training consistently and racing when you get the chance so events like Caloundra are perfect for that.
At the pointy end of the field we had Chris Bierton win the 20-24 males again and take a strangle hold on the series leader points while Tom Manning followed him home in second. Chris is off to Geelong next weekend for the Aus Champ series and based on his form he will give a good account of himself.
For the same age group in the ladies Alissa Williams was also second and Kristy Bell 7th while Yas Grigaluinas took out the ladies enticer event. Also going well was Troy Grimshaw with a second in the men's 30-34.

SUPPORTERS TOUR
On May 1st is IM Australia at Port Macquarie. For the first time there is also a half IM on the same day and between both events BTS has about 15 athletes competing.
An IM event is a great spectacle and well worth watching live if you ever get the chance. In a town like Port Macquarie it's even better with it being such a nice coastal town.
If you would like to come and support the BTS athletes competing and be part of a supporters tour contact me at mark@brisbanetrisquad.com.au We have secured some accommodation and arranged a 12 seater mini bus for the trip there and back.
For 2 nights accommodation at the Town Motor Inn and transport costs it would be $160 each if we have 12 people interested. For 8 people it would be $200 each.
The bus would leave early on Sat Apr 30 and return on the public holiday Mon May 2nd. At this stage there are about 6 people quite keen so let me know as soon as you can.
PURESPORT
As part of our new sponsorship agreement with Puresport http://www.pureposrt.net.au/ , their National Sales Manager Duncan Inkster will be at the Friday morning wind trainer session this week.
Duncan will be talking about the workout and recovery drinks they offer during the session and providing samples. He was also at our run session on Tuesday morning armed with some free Puresport water bottles and samples for everyone to try.
Remember you can purchase the Puresport Drinks from Matt and the team at Avanti Plus the Valley.
VIDEOPRO
For the third time Videopro will be giving away a $2500 3D home theatre system to a BTS member at the Mooloolaba after party. As per previous campaigns you have to be a current BTS member and be competing at Mooloolaba.
We'll also have bonus points for the draw and the first of those will be this weekend at the Mooloolaba camp. We'll also have some at different training sessions next week so stay tuned to the BTS facebook page for details.
